First Artificial Heart E-mail

It appears that the world's first artificial heart might have been created. Made from animal tissue, titanium, and missile technology, the heart is odd looking not unlike it's human counterpart. If tests prove the device to be effective and reliable, this will be a major advancement in medical science. In any case, this is the first step forward to saving many many lives.

Broken Promises E-mail

CNN is well known as a liberal network that has made Barack Obama look like a knight in shining armor.  That is what makes this article so shocking.  It appears that a CNN reporter is calling out Obama.  She goes on to point out how not that long ago Obama promised to use government funding for his campaign, which he moved away from earlier this year.  The article goes on to point out how he's been able to raise over $600 million, as much as Bush and Kerry combined.  While that is an impressive feat, it is a scary one.  Firstly, he's shown the willingness to break promises, not a shock from any politician.  My problem with it is that he is spending massive amounts of money like it is nothing.  Millions to the major tv networks for a 30 minute spot tonight, millions in advertising.  In a world where the economy is dying a slow death, I want someone who has at least some control over their spending, and that does not appear to be Barack Obama.

8 Years Old and Firing a Gun? E-mail

So apparently an 8 year old boy was killed while shooting an oozy at a recent gun show. The boy, who was firing the weapon under the supervision of a certified instructor, lost control of the weapon while firing. The weapon swung around while firing and the boy was hit in the head and killed. A tragic loss. The most important question that comes to mind, what the hell was an 8 year old boy doing shooting a gun, much less an oozy?

Are People this Stupid? E-mail

Gas prices have taken a record drop and people are just thrilled. It's great that gas prices are under $3 again, but not that long ago weren't gas prices below $2? Are we really that excited that we are still being taken advantage of by the gas companies, just in a slightly smaller way? I personally find it outrageous that OPEC has decreased production because gas prices are "going too low". Too low? What, back to affordable? Remember when you are buying this "cheap" gas, it isn't as cheap as it should be, and you are still funding some Middle Eastern guys dream palace.

School Staff at their Finest E-mail

It appears that a college student managed to breach his schools security measures and was able to gain access to personal information of around 250 employees. The information accessed includes social security numbers and other information which puts those employees at risk of identity theft. The student, which apparently had no issue getting this information as apparently it was sitting out in the open for anyone with a university login to see, immediately reported the access of the information to the principle, and was subsequently arrested for his honesty. The information then remained in the clear for another 1-2 weeks afterwards. Wow, good thing they are keeping their priorities straight, hate to have a real bad guy who wasn't so nice to report it get access.

The Baltimore Ravens threw some new offensive techniques at the Raiders today.  One of the techniques included QB Joe Flacco tossing the ball to QB Troy Smith and then taking off down the field.  Smith fired off a long ball to Flacco who caught the ball and nearly walked it in the end zone.  The play ranked as the #1 pass out of all the day's games.

Ever just wish that you didn't need to spend time mowing the lawn, or if you pay someone to mow for you, that you didn't have to spend that money?  Well now you can solve that situation and still keep your lawn well cared for.  The Automower, a solar powered mower which will periodically activate and automatically mow your lawn is being unveiled.  Of course mowing is a bit intensive so it can't run entirely on solar power, but with a bit of electrical assistance, and the power of the sun it appears that soon we can all begin to do something better than mow the lawn with our weekends.

UFO files released by British authorities on Monday have some pretty interesting reports about one particular incident with a UFO where the orders were shoot first, ask questions later.  The incident which took place over the English countryside during the time of the Cold War describes the UFO as an object about the size of an aircraft carrier on radar.  The object apparently was moving erratically, occasionally hovering in mid-air, and managed to disappear instantly once approached by defense forces.  One pilot that was interviewed said that he was told to fire on the object.  He had locked 24 missiles onto the object and right before he fired, the object vanished off radar.  As always, when he landed he was debriefed and told never to mention the incident.
